The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works operates two special districts for the purpose of maintaining sanitary sewers: The Marina del Rey Sewer Maintenance District serves Marina del Rey. The Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District currently covers much of the sewered unincorporated county areas, 40 incorporated member cities, and serves two contract cities.
