SCAG is the Southern California Association of Governments. SCAG is the nation’s largest metropolitan planning organization, representing six counties, 190 cities and more than 19 million residents. SCAG undertakes a variety of planning and policy initiatives to encourage a more sustainable Southern California now and in the future.
Mapping & GIS at SCAG
Their website (click here) provides users with access to spatial data available from the website or that may be ordered through the website. You will also be able to find an Interactive Atlas, which permit users to view, print, and download interactive maps. You will also be able to find a list of existing maps that are available from SCAG publications or have been created for other planning activities.
Many of the digital boundary files and layers that SCAG has developed may be requested.

I would recommend coming to the LA COunty GIS Day next week – it’s open to the public and there will be lots of folks there that can answer your questions.
GIS Day is next Wednesday, November 14th, from 9 – 3:30 – check out this site: http://gis.lacounty.gov/gisday
I need a tutorial explaining how to use gis in L.A. county. Residential and commercial.
