School District Boundaries (2002)

This dataset contains boundaries of school districts in LA County from 2002.

There are two different kinds of school districts:

1. Separated Districts – where the Elementary & Middle Schools are administered separately from the High School Districts (William Hart High School receives students form Castaic and Saugus Elementary Schools, for example).
2. Union Districts – where Elementary, Middle, and High School Districts have a single administrator (Los Angeles Unified, for example).

The source of this data was a project by LA County Office of Emergency Management (Don Campbell) in or around 2002/3, so it may be out of date.  The official source of school information in LA County is the LA County Office  of Education.
