Registrar Recorder Precincts

Updated as of July 2019

Contains precincts from the Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder’s Office.  The Registrar/Recorder uses these precincts to run elections by grouping them into election precincts, so they capture the boundaries of all voting districts in the County, including, but not limited to:

  • LA County Supervisorial Districts
  • US Congressional Districts
  • State Senate and Assembly Districts
  • Schools Districts
  • Water and Waste Districts
  • And others.

Download the data here: precinct information file (pif) – zipped shapefile rrcc_precincts.zip

The Voting Precinct File is less useful without the two attached files

pif_shapefile_attributes_description (Excel File) – this file converts the numeric coding for the various district types into their common names.

  • Hi,

It seems that USD 54 (Wiseburn) is still an issue. Please check the Excel codes for errors/omissions.

    Thanks!

Where can we find historical versions? For example, from 2012?

    Thank you!

Hi! Do you know if we can obtain the raw data for the votes per precinct (ie Trump, Hillary, Bernie etc) for the last election? Thanks!

  • ispadley

Great! I also noticed that Wiseburn ESD is no longer present in the Shapefile. Those precincts are now shown as part of USD 54, which is not represented in the attributes table. Is USD 54 the new Wiseburn USD?

    Thank you for your help!

  • esalazar

Thank you for bringing that up to our attention. We will update the attribute description file as soon as possible.

This is great. I’m so glad that this resource is now available online.

One issue to report: The attribute description file appears to be out of date. It does not provide a breakdown of the new Pasadena USD districts reflected in the updated shapefile.

Otherwise it looks great. Thank you!
