There are a number of sources of bikeway data out there.  Currently, we host the most comprehensive and authoritative data source available to the public, please see:

This site currently relies on a dataset from 2012. We are working to update this to the latest dataset available and also integrating County trails information, from Department of Parks and Recreation.

Our goal is to create a distributed updating system that will also provide visualization and routing tools that will make the data shine:

Using GIS Data on this site

GIS data available on this website is provided AS IS - please read the GIS Data Portal Terms of Use

Data Field Descriptions
  • NAME - Bike Path Name
  • CLASS - there are three classes:
    • 1 - Bike Path - off-street shared-use path for bicycles and pedestrians.
    • 2 - Bike Lane - on-street striped and signed dedicated travel lane for bicycles.
    • 3 - Bike Route - on-street travel lane shared by bicyclists and other vehicular traffic.
  • Source - Data Source (either SCAG or DPW).  DPW data is generally more accurate since it was derived from parcels and aerial photography
