To support the Golden Guardian (Shakeout) exercise on November 13th and 14th, we are testing the various ways to deploy the information that will be made available during the event.
The LA County exercise incident data shown in our services will be live!. The GIS systems of the County will be pulling data from the County’s Emergency Management Information System (EMIS) at 10 minute intervals and pushing the data out as live feeds via a number of mapping technologies.
Please use these systems, and if you have comments I would appreciate them!
I will be checking this site during the exercise for comments and questions and will respond as well as I can to any questions that might come up.
The Shake Intensity maps come from the USGS site ShakeMap archive available here.
Google Earth
I recommend adding the USGS KML feed as well as one of the County feeds in order to get the best of both worlds.
- USGS KML feed of shaking intensity
- LA County Live Incident Feed (External Users)
- LA County Live Incident Feed (Internal)
ESRI ArcIMS based Application (Geocortex IMF based)
This application will provide advanced analysis, query, buffering and extraction tools – it acts more like a standard GIS software package.
ESRI ArcGIS Server Map Service
This link is for developers who want to connect directly to the incident data and provide it as a feed inside of their own ESRI-based applications.
Others – I might be adding other things during the day, as well as maps that we are making …
