Hello everyone,
GIS Day was a tremendous success today. I will follow up with some more official follow-up, but sitting here in my office after this event I wanted to quickly remark on how it couldn’t have been better – the weather was perfect, the visitors enthusiastic, and an overall wonderful day.
Special thanks to Martha Selig of the County of LA Department of Regional Planning, who coordinated this event to a tee, and really made this happen, and Ana Maria Correa from the Internal Services/Urban Research department, who provided the funds that made GIS day a success. And also thank to everyone who organized, attended, and supported our efforts.
I think the event was perfectly suited to show the public, management, and professionals the benefits that GIS can provide are being leveraged by County departments and their staff.
