Important note
The GIS classifications will be in front of the Board of Supervisors tomorrow. It was held from two weeks ago due to unrelated issues, so let’s hope it passes tomorrow. Unfortunately that does not give me or the CEO enough time to prepare to discuss the classifications tomorrow, so we will need to postpone until next month’s meeting.
Discussion items for tomorrow
- LAR-IAC3 data has arrived! Please contact your GIS Manager for access since the eGIS group will be in contact with them with the connection details.
- City Boundaries: The initial version of the city boundary file is done – I will discuss its use and organization. Here is the zipped shapefile: dpw_city_boundaries_2012_0509 (zipped shapefile).
- LA GIS Repository: current list – this is a critical document that lists the current status of the County’s Data Holdings and status. Los Angeles County Enterprise GIS Repository Data Layers (May 2012) (excel file). It lists both the data we have listed, it’s location in the eGIS Repository, and its publication status on the LA County GIS Data Portal.
