By markgreninger, on December 3rd, 2012 I just sent out an email to all of the participants that we could identify, but if you did not receive that email we would appreciate your feedback!
The GIS Day Committee would like to thank you for attending the 5th annual GIS Day event, titled “GIS – The Power of Location”. We hope that you found it an informative and fun day for GIS, and got some good swag! In an effort to improve our event, we would ask that you fill out a quick survey to let us know what we did well, and what we could improve. The survey will take around 3-4 minutes to complete, and has about 10 questions.
To fill out the survey, click on this link: http://egis3.lacounty.gov/eGIS/gisday/gis-day-survey/
Thank you, and we hope to see you again next year.

GIS Day is tomorrow! Looking forward to another great event. The weather has cleared up, which allows us to keep everything outdoors (we did have a back-up plan), but we are looking forward to another special event! We anticipate over 500 attendees, and cannot wait to share “The Power of Location” with everyone.

By markgreninger, on November 7th, 2012 This morning, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors proclaimed next Wednesday, November 14th as “GIS Day.”
This is the second time they have done so, and a number of the GIS Day committee staff were on hand to see the presentation, and receive the beautiful scroll that was prepared for the event. The scroll is a beautiful tradition that LA County has for celebrating important events (like GIS Day). I will upload some pictures as soon as I get them.
Click here to see the scroll: GIS Day 2012 Proclamation by the Board of Supervisors
The text on the scroll reads:
