The objective of the GIS Viewer is to publicize the County’s GIS authoritative data holdings and enable wide access to them through a powerful set of web-based GIS tools. The audience is mainly targeted for internal County employees but it is also available to the public. Please review the GIS Viewer Training Manual and/or training videos above for guidance.
Parcel ownership data has been added to the GIS Viewer, but requires a login to access that should have been distribute to you. Contact your GIS Coordinator or the eGIS Group (click here to email) if you do not have a password. GIS Viewer access to parcel ownership information is only available to Los Angeles County departments or organizations who subscribe to the eGIS Program.
Once you have launched the GIS Viewer and you wish to access parcel ownership data, click on the “Sign-In” link located at the top right corner of the interface.
And yes – this is a web-based GIS, providing broad, generic GIS capabilities, so users will need to understand GIS concepts including layers, etc. It isn’t designed to be simple, but instead designed to enable the full power of web-based geographic tools. Don’t be overwhelmed by the tools – the training manual and videos will help and you may click here to access them.
