What is GIS Day?

GIS Day is a free event  for the public and presenters, supported by County departments and funded by the County’s enterprise GIS Program.  We invite you to join us to learn more about how the County, government agencies, private companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in  emergency response, social services and administration to make life better in Los Angeles County.

To learn more, go to the GIS Day Page.  We will be updating that page with details including parking, schedules, training, etc.

What if I want to participate by having a booth, presenting a map, or giving a talk?

We invite you to register online here:

2011 GIS Day Flyer

The 2011 GIS Day Flyer is here!  It’s a great overview of our goal for GIS Day, which is a free event to promote the effective and efficient use of GIS across LA County.

The LA County Department of Public Works did a GREAT job on this flyer, which has a lot of great detail about the event.  Thanks to Tommy Browne and his staff for a job well done!
