Oil and Gas GIS Data

boemThe Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) promotes energy independence, environmental protection and economic development through responsible, science-based management of offshore conventional and renewable energy and marine mineral resources.

BOEM handles the actual Oil and Gas Lease Sales, along with Marine Minerals negotiated agreements and official maps and GIS data.

GIS Data is available from this page: http://www.boem.gov/Maps-and-GIS-Data/

as well as this page: http://www.boem.gov/Oil-and-Gas-Energy-Program/Mapping-and-Data/Pacific.aspx#GIStable.

One of the more interesting datasets is the limit of the 3 nautical mile Submerged Lands Act Boundary (basically the boundary of the state jurisdictions).
