PBI TopoJSON Files

Shape Maps are a great way to add simple map polygons to your Power BI reports. If you are new to shape maps, you’ll need to read the MS Docs to enable this feature. These topojson files were created to assist Business Intel teams here at DCFS (and other Power BI users) using QGIS and mapshaper.

Download, described below:

File Description
census_tracts.json Polygons in this layer represent tracts of the United States Census of 2010. Use the field ‘CT10’ to link to your tables.
zipcodes.json This file aligns with the ZIP Code boundaries used to determine DCFS Service Areas.
zipcodes_anf.json Same ZIP Codes as above, but the underpopulated Angeles National Forest is carved out to for better visualizations in the Antelope Valley area.
dcfs_areas.json This file includes fields for commonly used Field Office names and the Office Codes.
