GIS Day 2009 Lessons Learned

My thanks to all who participated or attended this year’s event. It was an ambitious program and I think we acquitted ourselves admirably. Fausto Rowlan and Henry Kao of DPW took lots of photos, many of which will make it to the eGIS website for your pleasure and enjoyment. We’ll let you know when you can relive the glory. Stay tuned; somewhere down the line, as time allows, they will produce a 15-minute or so video of the day. I’m anxious to see that, too.

As part of closing out the project, I’m making notes of lessons to learn from the experience. I found last year’s notes very helpful in avoiding some pitfalls this time around and I’d like to give next year’s coordinator a head start on planning.

Please take a brief moment to send me your comments, suggestions or complaints regarding this year’s event and let me know how we can improve next year’s.

If you’d rather comment anonymously, please use the following survey link: https://lacws.lacounty.gov/LACounty/se.ashx?s=645F266E1A0A3448.

Please share this with anyone who participated in GIS Day for your group, department or agency, etc. The more perspectives, the better.

Thanks again for all your support,
Martha Selig
