pic2Peter Meisen – GENI – Topic:  Using GIS to Accelerate the Development of Renewable Energy Resources

With the goal of accelerating the use of renewable energies in all nations, GENI’s interns and volunteers use GIS tools to visualize renewable energy potential so policy-makers and renewable energy developers can make more informed choices more quickly.  GENI’s President Peter Meisen will show examples from the national perspective and local San Diego scale.

For years the Global Energy Network Institute (GENI) has conducted research on how nations across the globe could become 100% renewable within the decade.  This research is available on-line and has been sent to key decision-makers in the effected countries.

GENI promotes the integration of renewable energy resources around the world – specifically the interconnection of electric networks between regions and nations with an emphasis on tapping abundant renewable solar, wind and geothermal resources.
