This page provides users an introductory and intermediate-level training on utilizing the Los Angeles County GIS Viewer. It is best and wise to go through the training manual, at minimum, before attempting to navigate the GIS Viewer.
In this PDF document, there are step-by-step instructions with screenshots that will enable you to learn the layout of the GIS Viewer (e.g. map themes and layers, toolbar buttons) as well as important functions such as finding an address, creating reports, and printing customized maps.
Each of the brief videos below target one capability of the GIS Viewer. You will learn how to navigate the viewer, perform basic spatial analysis (buffer), and geocode latitude/longitude coordinates. For best experience, use Chrome or Firefox to view videos.
