GIS Day 2017 Details

What is GIS Day?

GIS Day is celebrated nationally as part of National Geography Awareness Week. GIS Day is a chance for staff, students, and residents from around the County to share what they are doing with GIS, make connections, and to reach out to the public and to other using GIS technologies.

Who is our audience?

We invite government  departments, cities, and agencies, along with colleges, and private vendors to showcase their programs and capabilities to folks who want to learn more.  Our audience varies in its understanding of GIS, so we are looking to illustrate that the use and value of GIS are limited only by imagination.

LA County’s GIS Day is free to attend both for the public and presenters, supported by County departments and funded by the County’s enterprise GIS Program.  We invite you to join us to learn more about how the County, government agencies, private companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in  emergency response, social services and administration to make life better in Los Angeles County.
